1. get better at doing realism pieces like portraits of people from photos (getting sorta tired of only being able to draw cartoon like pictures I would like to do more realistic pictures).

2.learn how to crochet even take classes if need be.

3.get better at knitting with dpns.

4.build a better portfolio so you can try to do, the artist alley at Anime St.louis next year.

5.start working on at least the plot of a doctor who/firefly fan art web comic you want to try making.

6.do more poetry on at least a daily basis

so yeah I have been having a really hard time with things in general, oddly its mostly just the personal life that has gone hay wire, I found two people that I really like and had started to form really good feelings for but it seems that only one of them only really has deep feelings for me, but to put it simply my life is just incredibly complicated at the moment so taking a step back from things for right now.
is really the best thing for me, since their lives are not any less complicated either, its never easy for someone like me to put matters of the heart to the back burner but I know its really for the best I need to have more of my focus on going back to school for right now. Hopefully things can work them selves out in a good positive fashion.

I was browsing the site today like I most all days and did a search on titlements such as "cock" or "boobs" I notice that a ton of these poor artists get so much shit for putting up pictures like this saying it not art work its only exhibitionism.
*sigh* for the life of me I don't think I will ever understand why the realm of sex, never is going to be looked at as what most people look at as "real art" get over yourselves art is what a person chooses to make of their lives in their own creative ways.

and honestly what is wrong with this, its not hurting anyone its a way of expression and that to me is what art in its most basic form is.

people's sexuality can be artistic,  you just find more people that want to express their own opinions which is fine and dandy but, if you tell me that what I do is not art, then I have every right in the world to to your page and tell you what is or is not art on there too.

the most I have ever played around with the topic of sexuality is within my erotic writings, its the only place I feel comfortable with the subject matter, I am not entirely sure as to why that is for me personally I have just always been like that.
but I don't be grudge others for making artwork that is of a sexual nature, and even if that means taking a photo of yourself that can qualify as well.

the major point i want express is the biggest thing that might hold someone back as an artist is fro someone to tell them, their piece is not real art. DO NOT LISTEN to this even if you art is something you know might be insulting or mean, or controversial , don't listen to people like this......
just don't.....you are are you own biggest influence in what you do creatively, as long as you are not going out and being harmful or hurtful in some way to others I don't see the issue.
maybe this all boils down to as a society we really don't feel okay with the subject matter of sex in general we think its something that needs to be kept behind closed doors, well that would be good and okay but a lot of the issues we have had with sex in the past is cause we had that attitude. And tired to act like it didn't exist....but then when things like AIDS and STDs came about we talked about and made people change the way they did things.

But sex is natural and its meant to be something that people actually enjoy.....why ALWAYS have a negative light around it would it kill us once to think of the subject in a positive light.
